App-ads.txt
The app-ads.txt page enables you to generate a file to upload on your website to give Admix the right to sell your inventory.
Why it's important
Lately, the IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) has released a new set of guidelines for publishers to implement, in an effort to reduce advertising fraud.
App-ads.txt is a whitelist of the publisher’s authorised resellers. In other words, a list of platforms that the publisher works with to sell their inventory.
Eventually, as this measure is enforced, we expect that publishers that do not support app-ads.txt will lose over 50% of their revenue.
Implementation
Generate your app-ads.txt on the Admix developer platform by opening My Profile
(bottom left icon) and App-ads.txt
Click the Download button, which will generate your unique App-ads.txt file.
Once you've downloaded the file:
- Upload the file on your root domain such as yourdomain.com/app-ads.txt – it needs to be on the root domain
- Make sure to use the same domain that is listed on your iOS or Google Play developer profile.
- Do not edit the lines in this file. If you work with other ad providers, you can add them to the same file.
- You’re up to date!
How it works
When receiving an ad request before buying the inventory, the advertiser will follow the app store URL to find your website from iOS or Play Store, and try to read the App-Ads.txt file on: yourdomain.com/app-ads.txt
If the ad request comes from a seller listed in the file, the transaction can go through and the ad will be served. If that isn’t the case, the ad won’t be bought, resulting in a missing opportunity for publishers.
